雪隆廣肇會館簡史

過去、現在、未來
擁有120 年悠久歷史，為雪蘭莪及吉隆坡著名社團之一的「雪隆廣肇會館」，過去歷盡滄桑，於今依然屹立首都，其中興革，當有足道之處，藉供各界對華人社團歷史研究作參考之資料。

Selangor and Federal Territory Kwong Siew Association, one of the famous associations in Federal Capital and Selangor, has a long history of 120 years. It has experienced many vicissitudes of life in the past. Today we can feel proud of its existence in the federal capital. An outline of the summary of its prosperity and changes are compiled and used as reference materials for those who research into the history of the Chinese associations in Malaysia.

創立經過
早在1886 年，廣州府（十六縣：番禺、南海、順德、中山、東莞、寶安、新會、台山、從化、龍門、三水、清遠、花縣、增城、佛岡、赤溪）、肇慶府（十六縣：高要、四會、新興、高明、開平、鶴山、恩平、廣寧、封川、雲浮、開建、鬱南、羅定、德慶、陽春、陽江）兩府三十二縣同鄉，梯山航海，蒞臨斯土者，為數甚眾。僉認為聯絡鄉情，溝通聲氣，亟應成立集合之所，因而發起組織宗親會館，以應環境所需，乃由趙煜、王春臨等君，倡建會館。趙君並慨捐鉅款，以為之倡。當時廣肇人士，群起響應，三行工友，擔任義務建築，藍領同鄉，負責免費運輸，商店捐贈傢俬，群策群力，萬眾一心，充分表現有錢出錢，有力出力之崇高精神。故巍峨壯麗之會館，遂於1888 年（即光緒十四年），正式落成，建築古色古香，富有東方色彩，會堂面積一萬餘方尺。

IT’S ORIGIN

Way back in 1886, quite a large number of our fellow villagers from 32 counties in 2 municipalities:-
Guang Zhou(廣州) municipality consist of 16 counties which are :
Panyu (番禺)、Nanhai (南海)、Shunde (順德)、Zhongshan (中山)、
Dongguan (東莞)、Baoan (寶安)、Xinhui (新會)、Taishan (台山)、
Chonghua(從化)、Longmen(龍門)、Sanshui(三水)、Qingyuan(清遠)、
Huaxian(花縣)、Zengcheng(增城)、Fogang(佛岡)、Chiqi(赤溪)

Zhoaqing(肇慶) municipality consist of 16 counties which are：
Gaoyao(高要)、Sihui(四會)、Xinxing(新興)、Gaoming(高明)、
Kaiping(開平)、Heshan(鶴山)、Enping(恩平)、Guangning(廣寧)、
Fengchuan(封川)、Yunfu(雲浮)、Kaijian(開建)、Yunan(鬱南)、
Luoding(羅定)、Deqing(德慶)、Yangchuan(陽春)、Yangjiang(陽江）

Our fellow villagers thought that in order to strengthen the bonds among the fellow villagers and to communicate with each other, a place of gathering should be set up.

Therefore, the formation of an association was initiated by Zhao Yu (趙煜), Wang Chun Lin (王春臨) and others. Zhao Yu had donated a huge sum of money generously to the Association. At the same time, many people from the two munipalities of GuangZhou and Zhaoqing now known as "Kwong Siew's people" responded. A group of workers had built the association voluntarily. Our blue-collar fellow villagers provided free transportation. The shops donated furniture. Everyone worked with collective wisdom and concerted efforts and all were of one heart and one mind. Those who had money donated money,those who had strength also did their bit to help.

As such, the lofty magnificent association was completed in 1888. The antique building that is rich in oriental taste has an area of more than 10,000 square feet.
